iDatalink Maestro SW Steering Wheel Control AdapterConnects your car's steering wheel audio controls to select aftermarket car stereos

The iDatalink Maestro SW Universal Steering Wheel Control Interface lets you retain your vehicle's OEM steering wheel controls when replacing the factory radio with an SWC-compatible aftermarket radio. The Maestro SW lets you retain original steering wheel functions and assign a secondary press & hold feature to the buttons of your choice. The Maestro SW also lets you instantly create firmware for vehicles that are not included in the coverage list using a simple step-by-step web procedure.

You're tired of your car's stock radio, but you don't want to lose the convenience of your steering wheel audio controls. iDatalink's Maestro ADS-MSW adapter allows you to retain those controls when you install a new car stereo in a wide range of vehicles. It's compatible with over 1700 vehicles made after 1998, and it'll work with just about any brand of aftermarket stereo, including Alpine, Clarion, Dual, Eclipse, Jensen, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony, Visteon, and Valor.

  • Steering wheel control interface module
  • 24" Seven-pin harness with bare wire on other end
  • 23" Four-pin harness with a male 3.5mm connector/bare wire on other end
  • 7" mini-USB (type-B) to USB (type-A) cable

Note: You'll usually have to hardwire this adapter into your vehicle's wiring. In most vehicles, the factory radio plug does not have a wire dedicated to the steering wheel audio controls, so splicing & soldering is often required.

Compatibility: The iDatalink Maestro SW is compatible with over 1400 vehicle models with analog steering wheel inputs from 2000 to date, and with most aftermarket radios (Advent, Alpine, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Eclipse, JVC, Jensen, Kenwood, Pioneer, and Sony). The aftermarket head unit must have a SWC (Steering Wheel Control) 3.5mm input or wired remote connection.

Note: Not compatible with Rosen, CarShow, or Parrot receivers.

Flashing the Module: The supplied USB cable plugs into your PC and allows you to flash (program) the Maestro SW with the appropriate vehicle's firmware to prepare it for installation. Visit iDatalink's Weblink site and follow the instructions. System Requirements for Weblink 6.0 include:

  • Windows 2000 (SP4), XP (SP2), Vista, and 7
  • Administrative rights on your PC
  • Internet Explorer 7.0 or greater (excluding 64-bit version)
  • Available USB port
